Juan Pablo Busso is an Argentine biologist-turned-data scientist who has called Switzerland home for the past 13 years. After earning a PhD in biology, he traded cells and ecosystems for players and soccer fields. For the past six years, he has been applying data science to the beautiful game at FIFA, where he currently serves as a Senior Soccer Data Scientist. Proof that career paths, much like soccer matches, rarely follow a straight line.
