Cedric O
Cédric O graduated from HEC in 2006.
After working for Dominique Strauss-Kahn and then in consulting, Cédric O served as an advisor to Pierre Moscovici, the Minister of Economy and Finance, from 2012 to 2014.
From 2014 to 2017, Cédric O worked for the Safran Group, notably as deputy to the Group Industrial Director, head of the “Factory of the Future” project, and later as head of production.
A founding member of the En Marche movement and treasurer of the 2017 presidential campaign, Cédric O served as an advisor to the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, overseeing state holdings and digital affairs, from 2017 to 2019.
In March 2019, he was appointed Secretary of State for Digital Transition and Electronic Communications.
In these roles, he oversaw the government’s innovation policy, the growth of French Tech, as well as international (G7) and European negotiations related to digital regulation. In particular, he was one of the architects of the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act during France’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. He was also responsible for nationwide digital coverage and the rollout of 5G, as well as digital tools used in pandemic management, notably the TousAntiCovid app.
In 2023, he co-founded Mistral AI, now one of Europe’s leaders in generative AI.
In 2024, Cédric O joined the boards of directors of Artefact and Solocal. He was appointed by the government to the French government’s National Commission for Artificial Intelligence.
In late 2024, he founded Mallow, a company that develops technology solutions for education; its first product, an audio gaming speaker, was released on September 30, 2026.
