  • Avoid sales pitches

  • Choose a clear, catchy title: it's what draws the audience in.

  • Offer exclusive, relevant and business-oriented content.

  • Illustrate with concrete cases - avoid jargon and acronyms.

  • Use storytelling and figures to support your messages.

  • Interact with your audience: questions, polls, quizzes...

  • A dynamic, expert and passionate speaker makes all the difference.

  • Give orders of magnitude for costs, timescales and results - even approximate ones.

  • Don't start with an "About us" slide.

  • Don't assume you know the audience: ask them questions or adapt.

  • Don't stay stuck on your plan: encourage discussion if the audience is involved.

  • Don't read your slides - tell a story.

  • Limit yourself to 10 slides maximum for 30 min, and keep at least 10 min for the exchange.

  • Avoid vague answers like "it depends": give ranges and concrete examples.
