THEME: Moving from the promise of security to proof of mastery

Forwards adapt faster than defenders

The industrialisation of cyberattacks, driven by automation and AI, is putting security teams under pressure. Organisations must now demonstrate the true effectiveness of their controls in the face of dynamic and evolving threats.

Approaches such as security automation, SOAR, threat intelligence, and continuous security validation enable organisations to continuously assess the robustness of their systems. The challenge is to shift from a focus on the volume of alerts to a focus on relevant and actionable detection.

Cyber risk is both geopolitical and regulatory

Cybersecurity can no longer be separated from issues of sovereignty, compliance, and the software supply chain. With NIS2, DORA, GDPR, and industry-specific requirements, companies must integrate security into a comprehensive governance framework.

Issues such as cloud compliance, data protection, third-party risk, and software supply chain security are becoming increasingly critical. Cyber risk management now extends far beyond the technical realm to encompass legal, economic, and geopolitical dimensions.
